4 quarts popped popcorn
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 Cup Karo syrup

Mix sugar, cream of tartar, vinegar, and Karo syrup. Boil to soft ball stage. then add:

2 teaspoons butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Pour over popcorn. Using heavily buttered hands, quickly shape into balls. Cool on waxed paper sprayed with cooking spray.
